SCARLET SPARKLE - HONORING OUR MILITARY
New Queen Maureen Armstrong of the Diamond Girls in Nashville, Tennessee recently posted
a terrific Scarlet Sparkle on our QMB. Maureen, her "brand new husband" and his
parents went out to lunch following his Army re-enlistment ceremony, coincidentally
choosing the restaurant where The Donelson Red Hat Honeys chapter was having a
Memorial Day luncheon in the banquet room. Noticing Maureen's uniformed husband, one
of the Honeys approached and asked if their little group could join them in the banquet
room.
Maureen, her hubby and his visiting parents were ushered into the banquet room where the
soldier was given a standing ovation! The Honeys prayed for his safety and Queen Toni
Beard gave him a red ball cap. Said Maureen, "We went home and immediately searched for
the Red Hat Society on the Internet. That's when I learned I could join as a 'Pinkie.' I
signed up on the spot, starting my own chapter. Steven, my husband, is so proud that
he got his red hat before me. He makes sure to remind me continuously."
